"The Last Thoughts of Gino Merli" by Tom Flannery
Developed through the Jason Miller Playwrights Project, this play tells the remarkable story of Gino Merli, a local World War II veteran and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, whose life truly reflected the work ethic, spirituality and toughness of the people who comprise the fabric of our region. This production has been seen by over 18,000 students, teachers and members of the general public since it's premier. The play is now part of our historic and literary archives and plans are in the works to publish this show and further its potential beyond the valley so all audiences can witness the story of a decorated hero who embodied "the Greatest Generation".
